Bear Hollow Zoo
Bear Hollow is a non-releasable wildlife zoo with free admission. They have American Black Bears, North American River Otters, Beavers, Red Foxes, American Alligators, Eastern Spotted Skunks, White-tailed Deers, Wild Turkeys, Bald Eagles, Barred Owls, Great Horned Owls, and Eastern Screech-Owls. These animals are available to visit during the hours of operation. Residents love to take a break and be able to visit wildlife without having to drive to Atlanta.
The Sandbar
The Sandbar allows anyone to kayak the Broad River. A kayak is provided as well as life jackets and a paddle. You will take a short bus ride to the river and then begin your three and a half hour stroll down the river! The river is 5 miles long and will end at your car, so no additional walking is needed. This is a great way to cool off on hot summer days or just to enjoy with friends! The river is dog-friendly as long as your pet is wearing a life jacket, so buckle them in and get cruisin’!


State Botanical Garden of Georgia
The Botanical Garden is 313 acres of plants and nature. This is the perfect way to enjoy the natural water features, variety of plants, and tons of open grass areas to pop a towel down and enjoy the scenery. This is a great spot to take a break, sit and enjoy a book, take a walk, or just look around! Come and enjoy nature during business hours.
Sandy Creek Nature Center
Sandy Creek features 225 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and over 4 miles of trails! The visitor center features reptiles, marine and freshwater aquariums, and amphibians. There are several informative exhibits that feature ecosystems, trails, and more! This nature center is perfect for kids and easily accessible for a nice walk or run to get some exercise in.
